What to Expect
Step 1 — Comprehensive Evaluation & Intake
Your visit begins with a detailed review of health history, symptoms, lifestyle habits, and functional concerns. An in-depth evaluation is performed to assess areas such as tongue posture and mobility, lip strength, swallowing patterns, jaw function, nasal breathing, and overall posture. This process helps create a clear understanding of current muscle coordination and airway influences.
Step 2 — Functional Documentation & Airway Awareness
Photos and short video recordings may be taken to document oral posture, movement patterns, and breathing habits. These tools allow both clinician and patient to visualize functional patterns and better understand how airway considerations may impact sleep quality, orthodontic stability, and overall wellness.
Step 3 — Education & Collaborative Discussion
A key part of the consultation is education. Patients gain insight into how daily habits and muscle function influence long-term health outcomes. Time is dedicated to answering questions, discussing concerns, and reviewing how therapy may support individual goals.
Step 4 — Determining Candidacy & Creating a Plan
If myofunctional therapy is recommended, a structured care plan is outlined. This includes session frequency, home exercise expectations, timeline considerations, and long-term functional objectives to help guide the therapy journey with clarity and confidence.
