Step 1- The Comprehensive Evaluation
Your journey begins with a thorough evaluation designed to understand how your muscles, breathing patterns, and oral function are working together. During this appointment, we assess areas such as tongue posture and mobility, lip strength, nasal breathing, swallowing patterns, jaw function, and overall posture. Photos, videos, and detailed intake information help create a complete picture of functional habits and goals. This visit is educational and collaborative, giving you clarity about what is happening, why it matters, and how therapy can support long-term improvement.
What To Expect
Step 2- The Customized Treatment Plan
Following the evaluation, a customized therapy plan is created based on your unique needs, goals, and pace of progress. Each program includes targeted exercises and habit training designed to improve muscle coordination, support nasal breathing, and build stable functional patterns. Therapy is thoughtful and intentional, focused not just on short-term changes, but on creating sustainable results that support airway health, orthodontic stability, sleep quality, and overall wellness.
Step 3- Therapy Sessions
Following the initial assessment and customized treatment plan, therapy sessions focus on strengthening coordination and building healthy functional patterns of the tongue, lips, and facial muscles. Each session is scheduled for one hour, with a total of 12 sessions in the program. Visits are typically held weekly or bi-weekly, depending on the individual patients progress and needs. During sessions, patients are guided through targeted exercises, progress is monitored, and supportive education is provided to help reinforce long-term success. Simple daily exercises are assigned to integrate easily into everyday routines. Virtual sessions are also available for patients who prefer remote care or live outside the local area.
Step 4: Graduation & Long-Term Success- As therapy concludes, patients complete a final assessment to review progress, celebrate improvements, and ensure functional patterns are stable and sustainable. Guidance is provided on how to maintain results long-term through simple ongoing habits and awareness of breathing, posture, and oral function. When appropriate, continued collaboration with the patient’s dentist, orthodontist, or ENT helps support lasting outcomes. Most therapy programs are completed within 6–12 months, depending on individual goals and consistency. The exercises are designed to be manageable, empowering, and even enjoyable, helping both children and adults feel confident in their progress.
